Welcome to all businesses and supporters!
As a charity, SCP is committed to building and keeping strong links with our local community, including with businesses within the regions where we operate.
Our 65 year heritage, our work across the Stockport, Manchester, Trafford, Tameside, Derbyshire, High Peak and East Cheshire areas and the valuable support we offer children, young people and adults with learning and/or physical disabilities mean that we can offer attractive and sustainable Corporate Partnership opportunities to businesses in the region.

Our dedicated Fundraising Team are a lovely bunch of people and are on hand to support businesses that wish to partner with us. We work to make your involvement a success for both your business and our charity.
Connect your business with your local audiences through SCP Annual Corporate Fundraising Events
Our annual events programme presents opportunities for businesses to promote themselves whilst supporting a locally known and recognised charity. This can be a key step for businesses who want to either establish or build their Corporate Social Responsibility programmes.
Corporate partners have a crucial role to play in helping us raise funds and build awareness about the work our Society does.
We have a number of vital projects that we really need help to complete; these include raising funds for new equipment and refurbishments.
Special Projects are a great way for businesses to demonstrate their expertise in their core field whilst showing a real commitment to a local cause.
CHARITY OF THE YEAR
Why not consider your company becoming a recognised partner with us by adopting the Society as “Charity of the Year”? Over the years we have been “adopted” by many businesses that have fundraised for us throughout the year. This is a great way to engage employees in your corporate social responsibility programme whilst building strong team capabilities. There are lots of larger, organised charity events such as Bike rides that your teams can take part in – we’ll be very happy to help you find the right event and to support your fundraising with our charity branding and fundraising packs.
Alternatively, smaller scale activities could be anything from ‘Dance-Athons’ to Cake Sales to ‘Bad-Tie’ days! The only limitations are your imagination. Whatever you choose we will be happy to support you. For more information contact one of our Fundraising team on 0161 432 1248.
VOLUNTEERING AND GIFTS IN KIND
Corporate volunteers are the lifeblood of many of our fundraising events and they have also helped to transform our premises through painting, decorating and gardening. We also welcome corporate volunteers who want to use their professional skills to benefit us: recently we have had volunteers supporting us with everything from HR to graphic design. Pro-bono expertise is of huge value to us and skilled volunteers experience the satisfaction of having used their professional abilities to make a real difference.
LOCAL VOLUNTARY GROUPS AND ORGANISATIONS
In addition to businesses, SCP also works closely with the community through organisations and voluntary groups. We have received long standing support from Wilmslow Running Club, which has donated the proceeds of their annual Wizard 5 5-mile race to us on many past occasions. Additionally, we were pleased to be named Lady Captain’s Charity of the Year 2017 at Bramall Golf Club, Stockport Beer Week and also Stockport Barbershop Harmony Club. We are also a regular beneficiary of Associated Manchester Electrical Trader’s annual Christmas Lunch.
Private individuals were also kind enough to support SCP and their donations have further supported us in delivering our services.
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS FOR BUSINESS?
An active Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme:
Your employees, clients and customers want to work with a business that cares. Whether you already have an established CSR programme, or are considering setting one up, we can help you meet your goals. At Stockport CP we work with major companies and small local businesses – whatever your size there’s a partnership opportunity here for you.
Many employees enjoy the challenges of raising funds for a local charity and doing so can create a collective feeling in your organisation of having made a real difference. Undertaking joint efforts to support a charitable cause can have ‘team-building’ affect. Community volunteering has also been proven to boost personal wellbeing and self-esteem – so working with us can give your employees a lift!
Your Company visibility:
Fundraising and volunteering activities often generate good stories for the media which build your visibility within the local community. We also have active accounts on Facebook and Twitter on which we share fundraising stories and the names of those who support us. In addition, our corporate support stories are featured on our website.
WHY STOCKPORT CP?
- We are a local, independent parent/carer led charity – not a branch of a larger organisation and funds go straight into helping us deliver services to local people.
- We’re a small but committed fundraising team that offer dedicated account management and support.
- We have a wide range of options for corporate involvement that we can tailor to fit your business objectives.
