Happy musical harmonies created by Harmony Revival – a chorus that sings Barbershop have generated a total of £773 for the groups designated 2017 Charity of the Year; Stockport CP Society.

The group’s record of raising money for local charities goes back over 40 years and in 2017 local charity Stockport CP who provide services for children and adults with learning and or physical disabilities became their latest good cause to benefit from their good will.

The Harmony Revival singers sing Barbershop which is a highly infectious and fun hobby suitable for people of all ages. Barbershop can be Technical; however most of its participants have had little or no previous musical experience before getting involved.

The money was raised by collecting donations from members of the public at various locations where the singers performed throughout the region.

Many ‘Barbershoppers’ have friends from across the country and the group has a strong community spirit. Above all, Barbershop combines singing for pleasure amongst friends and singing for entertainment to the public.

Sarah Thomas, Chief Executive of SCPS said:

“This is a fabulous contribution to the work of the Society and we are so grateful to the Harmony Revival singers for firstly having chosen us as their 2017 Charity of the Year and then secondly, for raising and donating these much needed funds to the Society”.

Tony Johnston of Harmony Revival said:

‘It has been an honour to help Stockport CP with their fantastic work in the area. I’d like to personally thank all Stockport CP Society staff for their courtesy and support”.
